This central, cavernous hostel overflows with travellers year-round and is usually full in summer, despite its nearly 300 beds. The pleasant cafeteria serves snacks, drinks and three economical meals per day.Rooms are off creaky, wooden-floored halls that go on forever. This ever-growing hostel has recently expanded yet again so consider trying to locate your room amongst the maze of corridors part of the fun. Dorm rooms and bathrooms are spic and span, but simple and basic. Private rooms are terrific value, but usually booked weeks in advance. Little lamps or other details kick the utilitarian digs up a notch. Staff are friendly but often frazzled trying to keep up with the round-the-clock comings and goings. Everyone from teenage backpackers to big families with small children frequent this place. It's bustling, social atmosphere makes it a great place to meet fellow travellers.
