With each room decorated by a different local designer, it's no wonder Che Lulu is a hit. Style and Che Lulu's prime location in Palermo Viejo make for a winning combo. Rooms are miniature and some lack windows, but the beautifully designed common area more than makes up for it.

First, picture a converted two-story house on a sleepy Palermo side street. Then the shared area: decorated with rugs and stylish furniture, it has a hip art-loft feel (not to mention a TV, DVD player and stereo). Creaky wooden stairs, complete with candles on each step, lead to the upper rooms. The room called 'Chiqui' has a twin bed and a shared bath, while larger 'Victoria' is bedecked with a chic glass chandelier and wall hangings, both by a local glass designer. At the very top is the dorm room, aka the 'Attic'. Local designer Guillermo Lerner put his funky touches on this one, with stencil work on the walls and hanging orange discs that give it a sort of disco-dorm flare. Charismatic co-owner Rodrigo has traveled heaps and offers great insider advice on what to see in Buenos Aires. A small book-swap and free Internet top things off.
