Lonely Planet review

This small hostel has an excellent central Downtown location minutes from the museum and Nile. It's clean and friendly and the staff are welcoming. The young couple managing this hostel try hard to keep guests happy and it looks like they're succeeding. The hotel is small, but the rooms, although the usual basic Cairo standard, are spotlessly clean. They have large windows, French doors and balconies, high ceilings and wooden floorboards. Bathrooms and toilets are shared and - given the size of the place - stay manageably clean. During the heat of summer it's best to pay the little bit extra for air-con - a rare option for a hostel in this price range. There are books that can be borrowed, Internet access, and the staff can organise tours for you - they'll even give you free airport pickup if you're staying longer than three nights.
