Quotes Nothing feels more tropical than an open-air lounge room or a poolside breakfast under rustling palm trees and a broad blue sky. The open, well-thought-out design of Encanto de Itapoan makes the most of the gentle climate and speaks 'chill out'.

Why aren't there more pousadas like this one in Salvador? The colonial concept of building inappropriately for the climate runs deep in Brazil, but thankfully was not applied here. A tall wall closes out the rest of the street, leaving just the sky and the tops of the palm trees visible from the pool. You can just about forget you're surrounded by city. The pousada's yellow walls and varnished wood are sheltered by a raised ceramic tile roof. Solar panels are hidden somewhere. Rooms have little space to move around, but are outfitted for comfort (including imported American mattresses). Each has sliding glass doors to a small veranda, and faces a wall covered with vines and orchids. The quiet, pretty street dead-ends at the beach, just a half-block away. Renowned restaurants are within walking distance, and the helpful British-Brazilian owners are well versed in the local music scene.

How To Get There

From the bus station you can get a bus to Praia de Flamengo. Ask to get off at Rua Nova Canãa or Rua "N" at the Farol de Itapoan. Local people know this road by the letter of the alphabet"N" rather that it's full name. Rua Nova Canãa is a short road that leads down to the beach .We are number 48. From the airport you can get a taxi to Rua Nova Canãa or Rua " N" at the Farol de Itapoan. You can also get an executive bus from the airport and ask to be dropped off at the HSBC bank on Dorival Caymi. At the bottom of the road you turn left on to Engenheiro Aristides Milton da Silva. You can either walk for 10 minutes until you come to a fork in the road and you turn to the right towards the beach and that is Rua "N". Or you catch a bus to the Farol de Itapoan or Praia da Flamengo asked to be dropped off at Rua "N' If you come by car it is better to ask for specific instructions when you come as they are complicated and depend on where you are coming from

Vire a esquerda e ande para 10 minutos até a bifurcação na rua. Vire para o Lado direito na direção da praia esse é a rua "N". Ou você pode pegar un ônibus para o Farol de Itapoan ou Praia de Flamengo e desce na Rua "N".
