Lonely Planet review

This convivial hostel puts the 'mod' in modern. The bold retro decor and its location near LA's epicenter of youthful hipness make it a standout. All rooms have a private bathroom; some of the good-sized private rooms even have balconies.Carpeted, co-ed dorms sleep six in full-size beds and have lockers, while decent private rooms come with TV. High-speed internet, self-service laundry, free luggage storage and limited LAX shuttle services are available. Hook up with other travelers over free breakfast, in the satellite TV and movie lounge, the café, on the outdoor courtyard patio perfect for striking up conversations (not to mention feasting on barbecues), and on karaoke nights or pub crawls. Inquire about discounted tours to major attractions, including Universal Studios, Disneyland and LA nightclubs. Free underground parking is a bonus. Although the hostel is in West Hollywood, it's a fair distance to the Boystown gay district.
