Kooky, there's no doubt about it: chintz statues, bad-taste Roman-inspired friezes, heart-shaped pillows. They certainly broke the mould when they decorated this hotel. We're not quite sure how to take Angel's Home, but we like it. For maximum Angel's experience book the pickup from the airport, a glamorous backseat ride in a vintage sedan.Oodles of care and attention goes into this place. There are pretty gardens to sit in, a spacious rooftop (A1 views) and a very cosy sitting room. But what we're really taken with are the rooms. If these were in the Galata district 20 years ago, you'd be in for a red-light slap-and-tickle. Like a boudoir from a '70s porn-flick, they're decked out with deep maroon satin bedspreads, heart-shaped pillows, ruffles on ruffles and over-the-top painted mouldings. And spotless. Desperate decor, seductive style, lascivious luxury. We're getting faint just thinking about it and may need to lie down. Avoid the dark ground-floor rooms at the back.
