Handily located in a forgotten central pocket of Rotorua, this motel boasts no less than four pools: two indoor mineral pools, outdoor spa and a large figure-eight swimming pool. It's a trim family place that is ideal for those on a budget.

This motel sits in a handy location only a few minutes' walk from town, yet is quiet and has dependable parking. It offers a good range of options for budget conscious travellers and is particularly friendly to families, with comfortable rooms ranging from studios to one- and two-bed units sleeping up to seven. All are reasonably spacious and feature full kitchens for self-catering. Owners Phillipa and Mike have kept their prices competitive, but haven't scrimped on maintaining their motel. Nor have they let it coast by on its proximity to the city. It's not palatial, but there's plenty to keep kids busy either with the variety of pools or at the nearby lakefront.
