Adelaide Central YHA is an extremely well-equipped hostel, from the large kitchen and lounge to the numerous Internet terminals and on-site travel centre. But what makes it special is the diversity of fellow guests who stay here thanks to the YHA's acceptance of travellers of all ages.On any given night, the benches and chairs strewn around the enormous 1st-floor lounge/dining area can be filled with young backpackers, families and grey-haired adventurers, swapping stories and snacks, challenging each other to games of pool, or wandering off to see the free nightly movie. Acoustic guitarists occasionally provide background music for the loquacious throng. Rooms are bland but have lockers and comfortable beds, so at least you should get a very good night's sleep here. The dining area opens out to a small balcony with a view over the compact parkland of Light Sq. Parking is provided in an adjacent compound.
