How to get there

The easiest way to get to Glebe Village is to take a shuttle bus from the airport. If you are staying for 4 nights or more in a dorm room or three nights or more in a private room make sure to grab a receipt from your driver and we will happily refund $15 per bus ticket purchased!

If you however happen to find yourself in the city, catch a 431 bus from Central Station which will drop you right to our door. Sydney buses require that you pre-purchase a ticket from most convenience stores to travel weekdays 7am-7pm, outside of these hours and on weekends you can pay cash. It should cost around $2-5 to bus here from the city.

Sprawled over neighbouring Victorian houses (capacity 150), Glebe Village resembles nothing more than a collection of slightly grungy student flats. Frank-the-Tank types, less hung up on comfort than good times, should find themselves quite at home. There's a mix of shared bathrooms and en suites, good communal areas and sunny tables out front.

Hostelworld Description

Set in beautiful leafy gardens, our two terraced houses are heritage-listed. Unique in style and character, Glebe Village has a fantastic atmosphere and professional local staff.

We are ideally located on the north-western end of Glebe, a relaxed leafy suburb in the inner west of Sydney where parks and the water are a short 5 minute walk away.

If you like the idea of a hostel located outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, with loads of cafes, restaurants, bars and bookshops, but no more than a 10-15 minute bus ride into town, then Glebe Village is for you!

There's always plenty of opportunities to meet other people in our front courtyard or on one of our many fun activity nights. Our free BBQ every Sunday is a great chance to chill out and drink a few beers with your fellow travellers.

Our rooms are heated and have new bunks and mattresses. They are cleaned daily, are spacious and many have new polished floorboards. Our dormitories range in size from 4 beds to 6 or 10 beds. All our rooms are fully made-up with linen provided.

Glebe Village is a great place for a short stay and it also has a good reputation as a workersï¿½ hostel. We regularly receive information about casual work available. Our tour desk is available for advice on tours, bookings, transport and to book your next hostel.

Please note that for bookings for the period 18th December - 4th January the hostel will charge your card for the first night's stay in advance of arrival.
