You'll have a hard time believing that it's a recent addition to Sydney's hotel scene - as they've gone all out to make it look as old-fashioned as possible, with a club-like, masculine feel throughout the front of house areas that will have you itching to pull up a Chippendale, put on some slippers, quaff a port and puff a cigar. The astronomical feel isn't just reserved for the night-sky ceiling of the pool either, with the luxurious Globe bar and the highly regarded Galileo restaurant fulfilling the social needs of guests. Business facilities are uniformly good, and children are looked after nicely - right down to mini-bathrobes. An array of themed packages lean heavily on the 'you deserve it' side of things. Oh, and the rooms? The word 'plush' kept running through our minds.
