Boasting beauty and style, the Gran Meliá Mofarrej has artfully decorated rooms that remind visitors there's much more to Brazil than just the skyscrapers of São Paulo. The lobby, for instance, has a glass atrium with lush tropical foliage lining the windows and a wild sculpture descending from the ceiling.

Down below, the breakfast room has a waterfall with abundant greenery - a pretty neat trick considering this is the basement level. In the halls, paintings of Baianos, as well as scarlet macaws and other Brazilian birds decorate the walls. Even the swimming pool seems to exude the tropics, with a deck made solely of hardwoods. The rooms continue the tropical motif, albeit in subtler ways. A handsome cherry-wood armoire hides the flatscreen TV, while floor-to-ceiling windows provide abundant sunlight. The suites add antique furnishings, artwork and more space to the equation.
