Address: 1030 rue mackay, Downtown , Montréal H3G 2H1, Canada Show on map
The energetic and knowledgeable staff at this large and white Auberge de Jeunesse are always scheming ways to have fun - a pub crawl or a bike tour, for example. Lucien l'Allier metro station is at the end of Overdale, just five minutes from the hostel. The 41 dorm rooms are sparse with three to 10 bunk beds each and a few pieces of patio furniture. The rooms here are non-fussy and functional, with either twins or Houston bunk beds (double on the bottom and single on top), and the private rooms are usually the first ones to fill up. Fortunately air-con runs throughout the hostel and there are private bathrooms in all the rooms. The bright and cheery lobby has pay phones and free Internet access, and Cafe Globe-Trotteur serves breakfast, lunch boxes and casual dinners. For those who prefer to cook, there are also excellent shared kitchen facilities. Although the hostel has 239 beds, reservations are strongly recommended during high season when hoards of tour groups descend on the city. Children under five stay for free, and those under 17 pay a reduced rate. Non-Canadians must have an HI membership, or pay for a temporary membership.
