You have the pretty gardens of St James Park across the street, and the sprawling St Lawrence Market just a few blocks to the south. Rooms are quiet and common areas are appealing with pool tables, darts and an activities board announcing hostel events like BBQs and pub crawls. Beds in quad rooms may not cost any more than those in larger dormitories, so be sure to ask when making reservations. Groups are welcome, but there are only a few large rooms available. Check the website for HI cardholder discounts for places such as CN Tower, Casa Loma, museums, restaurants and cafes downtown.
