Somewhere between private apartment rental and a hotel, these self-contained apartments right opposite the Town Hall are perfect for independent travellers who value their privacy and love to be in the very centre of the action at the same time.

Run by the Foundation for Science and Liberal Arts, these apartments are housed in a peaceful, centuries-old building. Each has its own character and, while the furnishings won't leave you breathless, the views are great: rooftops, the statue of lovers kissing in front of Town Hall, Toomemägi park and Old Town. Even the largest rooms have a charm and cosiness to them. They have three older apartments and eight recently completed, more modern ones. Some of these last ones are split level, with a fireplace or other touches. The staff, though scientific and liberal, are friendly and have evidently spent much time and energy thinking about ways to increase their guests' pleasure. The only minus is the lack of free parking nearby.
