This classy choice is just steps away from Pape'ete in a quiet, pleasant area. For business, or anyone wanting to be close to the action (while still getting a good night's sleep), you can't do better than the Sheraton.

This entire hotel is fragranced with frangipani, and is designed in a comfortable, elegant style that makes you feel both pampered and right at home. There are no bungalows here, just rooms, which are nothing spectacular but good for getting some shuteye. If you pick a lagoon view room, make sure it's Mo'orea view and not one of the cargo port. On the port side, the lagoon is depressingly dirty with plastic bottles and even the occasional oil drum floating about. You miss these sights on the opposite side of the hotel but the lagoon water is still not fit for swimming. Fortunately there's a good pool and an elevated jacuzzi area with the good view. Everything is set up for business, with a wi-fi area and conference rooms. The over-the-water restaurant here is very good and popular with the upper crust of Pape'ete.
