Lonely Planet review

It may look like an Eastern European apartment complex, but this award-winning hostel, adorned with Beatles memorabilia, is one of the comfiest you'll find anywhere in the country. Spacious en suite dorms with impressive mod cons such as heated towel rails proclaim loudly that just because it's a hostel doesn't mean you can't have a modicum of comfort. The top class facilities also include a full-equipped self-catering kitchen, an Internet station, a huge lounge with super-comfy armchairs and cable TV, a massive dining room, a laundry, luggage lockers and a shop. Despite advertising that it's adjacent to Albert Dock, it's actually a good 10-minute walk away so if you're looking for a snack or a beverage it's just as well there's a shop on site.
Another key point is that though the hostel is set back from the busy dual carriageway that is Wapping, sensitive ears might want to opt for a rear-facing dorm to avoid residual traffic noise.
