Lonely Planet review

This enormous 21-story hotel has been around since the late '70s, and although the rooms are well maintained, the whole place glows with that bigger, better, more-concrete aesthetic that seemed to characterise the days of São Paulo's enormous growth. On a more positive note, the rooms here are quite large, and if you enjoy having access to half a dozen restaurants and loads of other amenities (sky lounge bar, glass-covered rooftop pool, beauty salon) this might be the place for you. The rooms - all 416 of them - are decorated in cream-colored tones, giving a subdued but bright appearance. You'll find spotless carpet, huge windows, large bathrooms with full-size tubs and a few prints on the walls. The suites are worth the extra outlay, as you'll gain roomier quarters, some extra furnishings (possibly a stuffed leather chair), and better views.
