Lonely Planet Review

Quotes This cool little hotel offers spacious, impeccably decorated rooms with brick walls or wood panelling. There's plenty of little extras that will make you wonder, 'Did they undercharge me or something?'

Many rooms have little fridges and microwaves. Bedspreads and upholstery are funky without trying too hard, and some of the couches seem to go on forever. This hotel is expanding and 'Belley' rooms are available in some of the nearby buildings including a giant suite with an enormous private patio out back. Get your key from one of the servers in the wonderful Belley Tavern on the first floor. Staff here are relaxed, helpful and friendly, even when trying to deal with hotel guests and the bar crowd at the same time.

Author Tip

Explore the busy farmers market down by the waterfront or simply go for a walk along the Old Port. The magnificent Musée de la Civilisation is just a few minutes away and the rest of the Old Lower Town is buzzing with bars, bistros and is packed with historical sights.
