Situated at the northernmost point of Goa, Fort Tiracol is breathtaking. The rooftop restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy fine food and a serene panoramic view of the meeting place of the Tiracol River with the Arabian Sea; one of the most divine sea views in the state.

This stunning hotel, the northernmost in Goa, is magnificent. There is an intentionally Mediterranean feel to the decor, replete with white umbrellas, rounded stone walls, airy bathrooms with open showers and wooden windows that swing out to the ocean. There are only seven rooms at the fort, named for the days of the week. Wednesday is by far the most lovely, with two tiers of private balconies and streamlined deckchairs. The views at every time of day over the ocean and untarnished Querim beach are magic. You may even see dolphins playing in the morning. Within the fort is a splendid white church which is still used twice a week for mass. You can also sit and enjoy refreshment in the courtyard outside the church and pretend that you're in Portugal.
