These stand out options on the beach are an imaginative stretch of the traditional coco hut concept. Bamboo walls on concrete bases with artistic stretches and embellishments make the Cafe del's architecturally peculiar and traveller magnetic.

The unusual designs of these huts with their tapered roofs (some with split-level bathrooms and some multi-storey) are part of a successful bid to stand out. The style and class of these beach huts, the orderliness of the grounds, the happy vibes during the day, and the social vibes at night all mean that these two beach hut complexes offer the complete Palolem package. The 24hr bar at Cafe del Mar is an asset or an arse depending on your viewpoint, but the food at its consistently popular restaurant is good in anyone's book. Sometimes the unrelenting activity rules out sleep as an option. If you can't beat them, join them (...or move to Cafe del Sol). The grandaddy of all the huts is the two-bedroom, two-storey model fit for the Swiss Family Robinson.
