This beautiful little boutique hotel has such a warm atmosphere that it feels more like a home than a hotel. Chances are you'll come away wishing your home was more like it.
Each room is gorgeously, individually decorated using local fabrics and choice selections of hand carved, darkwood furnishings. There's plenty of space here, as well as terracotta tiles and ultra modern bathrooms. The walls in this old colonial house are at least a metre thick, and passageways are studded with niches holding religious relics and statues. The lounge area is extremely comfortable, with plenty of sofas arranged around a fireplace and bookshelves crammed with books and magazines for guests to read. Out the front, a sunny, grassy area holds a decent swimming pool. The more modern suites at the back are accessed via stepping stones over a very zen-like, lily-filled fish pond.

Set in a quiet, residential part of town, the streets around the Posada are good for a cool afternoon stroll. While you're in the neighbourhood, think about popping in at the semi-restored ruins of the Iglesia de San José.
