Laid out on a jungle-covered hillside about 6 miles (10km) west of San Ignacio, this is ideal for backpackers. Cabins are simple but well-spaced, giving you the feeling of seclusion. There's a butterfly house on site.

The place isn't 100% pampering, though; in keeping with the ecological theme, there are composting toilets (which don't smell and are pretty hot, but never scalding). Simple, wholesome meals are available at good prices from the restaurant; there's an excellent pizzeria just down the road and it also offers kitchen access should you want to cook. This place is home to Central America's only frisbee-golf course, which has been rated as 'challenging' by professionals.
