Midrange hotels are thin on the ground in Cairo, so the Arabesque is destined to do well. Rooms have a bland fit-out but are comfortable and clean; avoid those at the front, which overlook one of the city's busiest and noisiest motorways. The lounge has great views over the Nile, comfortable seating and a satellite TV.
