Lonely Planet Review

The African offers an affordable way to stay in one of the city's most gorgeous mid-19th-century buildings (First Lady Suzanne Mubarak has her offices here). You want a room on the upper floor, where the balconies are. Paint is peeling in spots, and the toilets occasionally run, but the staff are very nice and the kitchen is enormous.
