Lonely Planet Review
This is the standard by which hostel accommodation should be judged. Olembia looks a bit like a boutique B&B, set in a small, elegant old house back from busy Barkly St. They've put quite a bit of effort into making this a treasure for your pleasure, with furnishings and impeccably presented snug-as-a-bug rooms.
There's a homely lounge and a spacious courtyard in front, overflowing with leafy greenery. Bookings are advised, especially for the upstairs family room; it's low-slung and cosy, with a split level and a terrific view over the courtyard. The staff are helpful and will guide you to St Kilda's delights with recommendations and tips galore.

Author Tip
St Kilda is all about having fun and you're perfectly positioned here to make the most of all the hedonistic pastimes on offer. Bar-hop your way along Acland Street, throw some shapes on a sweaty dance floor or catch a gig at the massive Palais Theatre.
