This religious institution, owned by the Waldensian church, is a sprawling mansion whose oldest part dates from the 13th century. Rooms come in a bewildering array of sizes ranging from doubles to dorms, some with private bathrooms and others with shared facilities.

This mansion used to be owned by a branch of the Morosoni family who gave Venice four Doges. On the first floor many of the rooms are adorned with 18th-century frescoes by Bevilacqua. There's also a cultural centre, housed in the old ballroom, which hosts concerts and conferences all year round. This is called Salone Angelo Mario Busetto after the Busetto family who donated the piano. One floor (but lots of stairs) up there may not be frescoes, but the views of the canal are wonderful and all the rooms have private bathrooms. The large breakfast room is up here too. The dorms have dinky staircases between the bunks instead of ladders and one locker and chair per person.
