A good-value suite hotel with decent sized rooms and many handy amenities. What's more, the Sunset Inn is sitting pretty near the Robson St shopping action, popular Sunset Beach and the bustling gay village around Davie St.

A cut above many of the West End's other self-catering suite hotels, the under-the-radar Sunset Inn offers recently refurbished, larger-than-average rooms with full kitchenettes. Cable TV, data ports and free parking are a given and there's a small exercise room and on-site laundry for guests. There's also a private balcony for every suite and some rooms - particularly those on south-facing higher floors - have partial views of English Bay. The recently added executive suites are recommended, especially off-season when they're a great deal. They include chi chi touches like hardwood floors and Jacuzzi bathtubs. If you're planning to stay longer, the Sunset also has some good-value monthly rates that are especially attractive to groups and extended families. Rates include continental breakfast.
