Lonely Planet Review

Trickett's is the best B&B in Sydney - and one night here will show you why. It's a 4.5-star mansion with loads of character and it's a thoroughly sumptuous experience. With seven of the 12 bedrooms in service, and a long list of repeat guests, you'll need to book ahead, and you'll find it very hard to leave. The lovely and garrulous Liz Trickett has lovingly restored this magnificent 19th-century mansion herself, and her attention to detail is evident throughout. Rooms are heavenly and, and all have bathroom (with frameless showers), and there's a delicious continental breakfast served indoors and out, depending on the weather. The incredible former ballroom of the mansion serves as the living room, with a drinks tray on hand, loads of good books and enough objets-turned conversation pieces to have you convinced you're in a antique dealer's. It's not the sort of place for families, although there is a garden apartment out the back that can be called into service for this.
