One of the friendliest spots in town, the Parnell Inn has undergone an impressive renovation in recent times, and one of the most impressive aspects of the overhaul was that the prices stayed right!

Rooms on the building's top floor (out of a total of two) are the ones to score. As you head down the corridor away from reception, bear in mind that on your right-hand side you'll find smaller studio-style rooms that are spunky and shiny but lacking in outlook. Make sure you nab a room on the left-hand side, and make sure that it has a view - we recommend either Rooms 3 or 4 - they attract the sun and take advantage of the building's high location in hilly Parnell. Rooms have been nicely updated with posh-looking silk bedspreads and fashionable colours throughout, and the local photographic works on the walls are a nice touch that gives some character. That said, original features such as old sinks have been left in the clean bathrooms, and retro touches like heart-shaped chocolates on the pillow add a fuzzy nostalgic glow.
