Address: Via castelfidardo 31, Castro pretorio , Rome 00185, Italy Show on map
One of Rome's best one-star hotels, the Castelfidardo is a welcoming family-run affair. Bright yellow halls lead to spacious rooms furnished with simple taste and a minimum of fuss. All have TVs and direct telephone lines for internet access.Far enough from Termini to avoid the worst of the noise but close enough to make cross-city transport easy, the Castelfidardo offers excellent value for money. One of a number of pensioni in a large block, it's a bright and breezy family-run place with a jovial owner and modest, modern rooms. Decorated with Van Gogh prints and IKEA-style furniture, rooms are cosy and spotlessly clean, the air-con and remote control work, and the beds are perfectly comfortable. There's no breakfast, but you can get a voucher at reception for a coffee and cornetto at the bar by the main entrance.
