The spotlessly clean and eminently comfortable rooms here are a good value step into the mid-range bracket. The hotel is in the very centre of the Pham Ngu Lao backpacking area and the panoramic views are among the best you'll see for this money. The 32 rooms come in four styles. All have a minibar, air-con and hot water bathrooms and water pressure that is good right up to the tall top. The difference comes in the size. The large rooms have a decent-sized bathtub and shower. The front rooms look down on Ð De Tham and out over western Saigon, the views getting better the higher you go until they reach a climax on the 10th-floor breakfast room, from where you can see an endless sea of buildings, neon and TV antennas. The service is good with the women in ao dais (traditional Vietnamese dresses)-at the front desk offering free advice and selling the usual range of local tours. If you want to travel further afield, STA Travel has a branch underneath.
