Lonely Planet Review
One of five bright, spacious rooms in this pleasant B&B is yours to discover in this archetypal turn-of-the-century terraced home. Rooms are so clean and tastefully decorated they look brand new.
Breakfast in the chandeliered dining room, beneath elaborate cornice mouldings and lofty ceilings, is certainly no simple affair. The plat du jour could be anything from buckwheat waffles to spicy scrambled eggs. For lighter eaters, fruit, cereal and a fresh supply of Montreal bagels and cream cheese are always on hand. Three of the four rooms share two bathrooms and reproduction antiques, pine dressers, and comfy sofa chairs liven up the free space in each room. All rooms have big windows and appealing views out over the backyard or the monastery across the street. The setting, just one block from the Mont Royal metro station, can't be beat. Parking is on-street (if you can get it) or dish out 5.00 per day for off-street parking at the monastery. Only cash is accepted.

Author Tip
On summer evenings the Théâtre de Verdure in Parc LaFontaine puts on daily shows for the public. Free entertainment means you'll have more money to spend on a bottle of wine for the table d'hôte at Le Poisson Rouge, a swanky seafood restaurant on the northwest edge of the park.
