The Chelsea is a low-key delight in Sydney's B&B category, taking pride of place on one of Darlinghurst's coolest (and quietest) streets in a gently crumbling terrace house. You'll find two types of room here - contemporary or French Provencal, so take your pick and pack accordingly.

Four singe rooms here share two lovely bathrooms, while other rooms all have an en suite. King rooms overlook the street and have their own verandahs for relaxing - and room 13 has its own courtyard, making a retreat within a retreat. All rooms contain attractive furniture, flattering lighting and beautiful bed linen, and service is both personal and discreet. The breakfast area is a charming, antique-filled, terracotta-floored space which looks out onto a lovely courtyard, making it the prefect place to start your day. Adjacent Oswald Lane is a dead-end of sorts with some parking available, although you're far better off using public transport or taxis to get to and from this central oasis.
