The views from the multi-storey main building are panoramic and spectacular. The hotel has more than a dash of flash. Inside and out the impeccable design mixes traditional materials with contemporary flair to startling effect.

The Legian is flashier than its luxury rival the Oberoi. Here the extras and conveniences really add up (along with the bill). Forgot your iPod, no matter, the room includes one. If your sound needs extend beyond your inner ear, you can fill your room with sound from the Bose sound system. All rooms claim to be suites, even if some are just large rooms (called 'studio suites'). Even these are quite spacious and enjoy outside seating areas. The bathrooms are the kind that will have you making a sketch for your builder at home, they are roomy visions of marble and teak. The many personal services offered include the chance to enjoy gourmet dining at a table set up by the surf.
