The newest luxury high-rise in Miraflores, the Marriott is perhaps the flashiest of them all, with a superb seafront location and a glam casino that's always hustling. Guest rooms are beyond comfortable, and have every amenity going.

No one could miss this gigantic, futuristic spike in the skyline, with over 25 floors and 300 rooms and suites. The high-rolling casino alone may be enough to seduce some into staying here. Whereas many top-end hotels in Miraflores seem stuffy, the informal Marriott is effortlessly chic. Although the hotel insists that all rooms have ocean views, expect this to actually vary from a barely visible sliver of surf to full panoramas from the upper floors. Though lacking in public space, the hotel has glass-fronted restaurants and bars, plus a health club and an open-air tennis court and swimming pool. It's ideal for jet-set business and leisure travellers who want an ultra-convenient location and an experience that's as smooth as a dry martini. Beware of overbooking.
