Aachen House is a luxuriously appointed boutique hotel with bundles of plush historic appeal for those who fall into the 'let's treat ourselves' demographic. Old-fashioned decor and an abundance of interesting objects make this a special place to stay.

The rooms all have beautiful proportions and old-fashioned touches such as high ceilings, thick walls and beautiful floors. Furnishings are of the highest quality and while the whole place has an air of grandeur, it's not at all stuck-up - the management style is based on a warm and generous approach. The bathrooms here are great and get rave reviews from guests, as do the shared areas that boast part of the owners' interesting antique collection alongside what seems like a million blue-and-white plates. All the boxes are well and truly ticked here, although, there's no way this place can be described as a bargain. That said, its location, management and interior will certainly not disappoint.
