Just as the adjacent Botanical Gardens were used to develop medicines, the first Bulgari hotel serves up a rejuvenating tonic, with its cool, calming decor, peaceful gardens and divine spa.

Better known for their fine jewellery, it is only a matter of time before Bulgari becomes just as well known for their hotels and resorts. Located on a private road behind Milan's Quadrilatero d'Oro fashion district, this hotel was exquisitely designed down to the last detail by Antonio Citterio, best known for his work for furniture company B&B Italia. The result is a wonder of wood, marble and granite that defines Milano cool and exudes warmth at the same time. The standard rooms are spacious, neutrally toned, and the marble bathrooms feature the wonderful Bulgari toiletries. The Suites feature a modern interpretation of the four-poster bed and have balconies with Brera views. There's an excellent gym and spa with a gorgeous lap pool, but the best bit is just hanging out in the gardens and lounge areas.
