Even if you can see the five-domed Basilica di San Marco from your bedroom, you'll want to join the crowd and step through those majestic portals. The glittering domes encrusted with millions of tiny golden mosaics echo with the audible sighs of the awed visitors below, and you may have to scoop your jaw off the semiprecious inlaid pavimenti (floors) once you glimpse the minute enamelwork on the jewel-encrusted Pala d'Oro altarpiece.
Mori means bell-ringers in English, so perhaps the hotel is named after those who rang the bells at St. Mark's?
