This sleek modernised hotel offers an attractive combination of contemporary style and an old-fashioned welcome. The staff seem to enjoy working here, and that makes all the difference. It's a very good mid-range option and handy for transport.

The lobby is cool - orchid stems and mesh insects somehow work well together. Off here is a pretty breakfast room which doubles as a restaurant, which LP readers have commented favourably on. There's wi-fi access, a couple of terminals, as well as a small summertime atrium lounge. The rooms are attractive, with big comfortable beds. Some have a very large balcony with views of the Acropolis: these cost a little more, and all are stylish and smart, with the expected facilities and marbled bathrooms. The only issue is traffic noise from busy Syngrou; you're better off as high as possible, and on the front (Falirou St) side of the hotel if you're a light sleeper. The hotel is in a handy location near Plaka - although not on a particularly appealing street - and there are parking garages very nearby. The hotel is graded three stars but in many ways feels like it deserves one more.
