Lonely Planet Review

The excellent Athens International Youth Hostel is the only hostel affiliated to Hostelling International (HI). Its location isn't overly salubrious, but otherwise the place is almost too good to be true. It occupies the former C-class Hotel Victor Ougo, which has been completely renovated - it even has double-glazed windows. The spotless rooms, with bathroom, sleep two to four people and include sheets and pillow cases.

Facilities include a guest kitchen, laundry, Internet access and free safety deposit boxes. There is no curfew and the reception staff speak English. The hostel is deservedly popular, so call ahead to reserve a bed.
