Quotes Run by the folk from Athens Backpackers, this place was just gearing up for opening at the time of research. These relaxed apartments promise to be an interesting option, particularly for groups of three or four travelling together.

These apartments are spacious, and have an open-plan, equipped kitchenette, a colourful bathroom, and a lounge area with shared balcony. The bedroom has either two beds or four bunk berths, making it a well-priced alternative to dormitory living. The apartments have little luxuries like LCD TVs with satellite channels and generally feel modern and stylish. On the top floor, the balconies are substantially larger, and there's a Parthenon view from one of these 'penthouse' apartments (which cost extra). This has the potential to become quite a self-contained travellers' hang-out, with a small sports bar planned for downstairs, as well as Internet and laundry facilities in the pipeline. It's in a good residential area very close to Plaka and the Acropolis and handy to the metro. At time of writing, reception was at Athens Backpackers at 12 Makri St, a few minutes away.

How To Get There

Take the metro to the Acropolis, exit into Makrigyianni St, walk down (away from the Acropolis), cross over at the traffic lights, taking the right hand fork into Veikou St, we are at the top, no 3A Or walk down Vas Amalias Ave from Syntagma Square as it turns into Syngrou Ave go right into Dionysiou Areopagitou (the old cobble stone street almost opposite from the ancients pillars of Hadrians Arch) and third left into Makrigyianni St (approx 7-10 min walk from Syntagma Square), then follow as above. After visiting the Acropolis, head on down Apostolou Pavlou into trendy Thissio, where there are sunny beer terraces by day, and a number of interesting and fashionable bars to explore by night.
