Lonely Planet Review

Quotes This small, recently opened hotel on a quietish side street is something of an unknown gem, and offers modern, comfortable rooms with a boutique feel, accompanied by warm, personal service. You'll really feel like a guest here, rather than a customer.

The rooms benefit from the recent inauguration - the beds are good and large, with firm orthopaedic mattresses and glisteningly clean tiled bathrooms. It's all of a very high standard, with space aplenty, and new carpets. Some of the rooms have a direct view of the Acropolis - these, of course, cost extra. There's also a small roof terrace with an amazingly unobstructed vista of the citadel and tables to enjoy a drink. Downstairs is the small, plant-filled lobby, bar, and breakfast room. The hotel is quiet, and this, combined with the comfort of the beds and the warm attentiveness of the service, almost guarantees a proper sound sleep. It's a great place for anyone who appreciates the benefit of a hotel with 18, rather than 180, rooms.

Author Tip

Athens is short on green spaces to get away from things, but the National Gardens running south of Syntagma Square are a pleasant place to sit in the sun for a while in peace and quiet.
