This designer hotel, true to its name, is a significant departure from the Athens norm and positively hums with good cheer. From the lobby - green apples, pink perspex, giant black fireplace - to the roof with its plunge pool, cocktails and DJs, this place is evidently something different. No pseudo-classical fonts or plaster sculptures here!

While the designer names are everywhere (sofas, lamps, chairs), what is perhaps more impressive are the small, personal touches. Very clever lighting and furnishing ideas are everywhere, but with an emphasis on comfort. The rates are very reasonable for this level of chic, so you'll want to book well ahead, as it's very 'in'. The standard rooms are great, with big white beds and a comfortable minimalism. Further up the scale, the executive rooms come with a delightful Zen garden and luxury cosmetics, while the suites have commodities in spades, including surround sound and portable phones. You can have a lot of fun here - the roof's Air Lounge is a trendy Athens nightspot, and regular party nights are held here and downstairs. There's also a classy rooftop restaurant by the small pool.
