Lonely Planet Review
Love-for-money gets thick over in this part of Th Sukhumvit, but Majestic's hermetically sealed rooms deliver privacy and quiet. As well as being generally comfy and tastefully decorated, the rooms here come with dial-up and wireless Internet connections and satellite TV. A good choice if you want to stay calm and connected to the world while in Bangkok.
This hotel has tried hard in terms of quality - things that are not immediately apparent to the naked eye such as 100% cotton sheets and double glazing. This prevents the common bad surprises of realising your bed is scratchy and your sleep infused with traffic noise. Quality bathrooms are a plus, many housing a huge round bathtub. Moving up to deluxe gets you a similar but larger room with extras like coffee and tea facilities and fluffy bathrobe. There are no views to speak of but the location right on the skytrain in upper Sukhumvit is ideal if you want to be in the thick of things. It's right near to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre and the Bumrungrad International Hospital. There are only 55 rooms so it remains a fairly intimate choice.
