Lonely Planet Review
These dazzling digs occupy two spectacular 19th-century Modernista buildings. The pentagonal foyer is magnificent, the beds are king-size and the baths are big enough for a work out. If you stand on your tippy-toes you can see La Pedrera from the rooftop terrace.
Rooms here are outstanding for the price. In fact, there must be few other hotels in a major European city where you can get such quality for this price. The semi-luxurious rooms are generous in scope and the furnishings well chosen. The rooms across the road in an annex are similarly excellent. What makes this place stand out, however, is the way they have adapted one of Barcelona's most distinguished Modernist apartment buildings, fusing modern comfort with old-world character. Grand staircases, elegant archways and quiet alcoves dominate the public spaces, but modern amenities such as wi-fi access and, well-equipped rooftop gym ensure thoroughly contemporary comfort. The rooftop swimming pool is small but the views are good and there's also a solarium.
