Lonely Planet Review
Just a few minutes east of the Forbidden City (which can be seen from some rooms) and west of the Wangfujing Dajie shopping area, this super clean, well-run and smart-looking hostel is as central as you can get.
Four- and eight-bed dorm rooms have simple pine bunk beds, TVs, and lockers. Clean, comfortable bedding and towels are provided, but you should bring your own lock. Doubles have en suite bathrooms, and, while spartan, do offer better quality accommodation than many similarly priced hotel rooms. The hostel shows every sign of keeping up appearances. There are no obvious scuffs or cracks on the wall, and the tiled and wood flooring (no carpets) is in great shape. The hostel offers standard Beijing hostel amenities like bike rental, laundry, travel service, computer room, small bar and store. There's also a large restaurant that serves reasonably priced western and eastern dishes and is furnished with a faux old-style decor. We wish the common area (with TV and DVD) was not in the lobby, but most guests were quite at ease hanging out there on the big, comfy chairs.
