Lonely Planet Review
So, all those other hotels we recommended... We were just kidding. You know (wink, wink), to keep the riffraff away from this one. The Faena's where you really want to stay. In fact, this luxury hotel-apartment-fantasy-world is the most decadent, sumptuous, sexy, over-the-top hotel in BA, with a price tag and service to match.
It's dreamland for adults. First of all, there's no reception. When you turn up (reservations only), you're greeted by a sexy young thing in a black tuxedo and given a black-and-white cell phone that connects you directly to your very own 'experience manager'. Where you'd expect a lobby, you'll find only a long sultry, dimly lit hallway, bedecked with gold curtains, etched mirrors and a centre-bench lined in black fur. Not a detail is missed, from the trimmings inside the silver-wall elevator to the swan-head faucets and marbled counters of the 'lobby' bathroom. The bedrooms are exquisite, with giant white claw-footed beds facing huge windows that look out over the city or the Río de La Plata. There's a cabaret downstairs, a fabulous old-fashioned bar and a fantastical, stark-white bistro, complete with dreamy unicorn heads mounted on the wall. Don't miss the outdoor pool and luxury spa.
