Lonely Planet Review
Situated just off Plaza Vicente López y Planes, the Bel Air is an old restored beauty. The lobby wine-bar and café is stylishly designed, with curving wood dividers, dark walls and mood lighting creating an irresistible lounge-like ambience. Rooms have polished hardwood floors that beautifully complement the modern yet functional furniture.
The divinely comfortable room interiors are reminiscent of 1960s Danish design and are surprisingly different from the classic elegance of the building's façade. All the tones are warm and muted. From the curtains to the beds, everything is sophisticated and cool, and you'll find none of the over-the-top glitz you might encounter at one of BA's bigger luxury chain hotels. Despite having 77 rooms, it still feels small. The lobby is a work of art - you'll find it hard to leave after pulling up one of the chairs in the café. There are all the services you could want, from salons to a fine restaurant, and its location can't be beat. It's no surprise the clientele all seem to walk around with an air of knowing they've made the right lodging decision once again.
