Lonely Planet Review
Open since 1941, Hotel Carsson offers a touch of honest-to-goodness, old-fashioned class in the heart of the Microcentro. Considering the location, comfort of the rooms and the yesteryear elegance of the place, it's a pretty good deal.
A long, stately hallway leads past a breakfast area to the hotel lobby, dominated by a handsome chandelier and large fake flower arrangement. Just outside the lobby is the pretty little garden (unfortunately empty of seats). The rooms are fine and quiet, and all sport little chandeliers. Charming little touches include writing tables, night stands and reading lights, and the red bedspreads complement the patterned carpets in color schemes you likely haven't seen in years. They're kept spotlessly clean, and the bathrooms are big. For a four-star hotel, it's a good deal, and even better if you can snag a superior (which will only cost you a few more pesos).
