Corporate travellers, octogenarians and expat English teachers all feel equally comfortable at this landmark business-class hotel thanks to the friendly staff and non-offensive interior. Look out for the tiger in the coffee shop.

The Lotte Hotel in Busan truly reflects the heart of the city. There's a rough-around-the edges, unpolished quality about the hotel, much like the people of this fair metropolis. Far from offensive, it's actually quite charming, a sentiment that can deepen over time. For that reason it's easy to overlook small blemishes like stained carpets in high-traffic footpaths or the uniformly 'blah', neutral-pink decor motif in many rooms. Unlike some of the top-end hotels in Seoul where guests and staff appear captivated by their own sense of sensibility, the culture of Busan's Lotte Hotel - much like the people - is more about accessibility.
